Local Tasks ("the App") is a local-first task management application. This Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled when you use the App.

1. Summary

Local Tasks does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All information you create in the App stays on your device unless you explicitly export it.

2. Data We Store (On-Device Only)

The App stores the following data locally on your device using platform-native storage:

  • Tasks — titles, notes, due dates, reminders, completion status, priorities
  • Subtasks — titles and completion status
  • Categories — names, colors, and icons
  • Settings — theme preference, accent color, sort mode, view preferences

This data is never uploaded to any server.

3. Notifications

The App uses local notification APIs to deliver task reminders. Notification scheduling and delivery are handled entirely by your operating system. No notification content is sent to third-party services.

4. Backups

  • Export — You can export your data as a human-readable JSON file. This file is shared only through system-provided mechanisms (e.g., AirDrop, Files app, email) and only when you initiate the action.
  • Import — You can import a previously exported JSON backup. The App reads the file you select and does not transmit it elsewhere.

5. Accounts & Authentication

The App does not require or support user accounts, logins, or any form of authentication.

6. Analytics & Tracking

The App does not use analytics SDKs, crash reporters, advertising networks, or any third-party tracking technology.

7. Internet & Network

The App does not require an internet connection to function. It does not make network requests to external servers under normal operation.

8. Data Deletion

  • Reset All Local Data — You can permanently delete all tasks, categories, and settings from within Settings → Reset All Local Data. This action cannot be undone.
  • Uninstalling the App — Deleting the App from your device removes all locally stored data associated with it, depending on your platform's behavior.

9. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect data from children. It is designed for general productivity use.

10. Changes to This Policy

If this policy is updated, the revised version will be available in-app under Settings → Privacy & About.
